Beer & Wine Sampling at New Castle Market, Aug. 25
It’s market time again! Join us Thursday, August 25, 2022, for our annual Beer & Wine Sampling at the New Castle Community Market. We’ll be there from 4:30 to 7 p.m. with lots of great drinks for you to try. You must be at least 21 to participate; a $5 donation goes to support the great programs at the New Castle Recreation Department.
Ashley Buerger with Afternoon Delight Bakery will be there as well with some tasty dessert, and City Market of New Castle is providing meat and cheese trays. And, you can enter to win a t-shirt or gift certificate! Here’s what’s on our lineup:
Wine Sampling
La Marca Prosecco, Italy
Crafted in the heart of Italy, the delicate La Marca Prosecco has a pale, golden straw color and sparkles with lively effervescence. Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
Whitehaven captures intense notes of passionfruit, lemongrass and white peach in this bold, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc. Talon Winery Wingspan Red, Grand Valley, Colorado
Talon Winery’s Wingspan Red is a Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. With these three varieties, the wine is crafted using extended maceration with careful attention to press fraction and a focus on smooth tannins. Barrel-aged, its deep, rich color and complex aromas of toasted oak and black pepper complement its intense, robust flavor and tannic structure. ABV 12.5%
La Cappuccina Madègo, Veneto, Italy
Madègo is a certified organic red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carmenère that should be drunk young in order to enjoy its full, fragrant fruit at its best. Its forthright bouquet displays berry fruit notes and well-integrated hints of oak. Well-balanced with soft tannins. Ideal with roasted or grilled meats and moderately mature hard cheeses. ABV 13%
