Beer & Wine Sampling on July 20, 2017
Enjoy beer, wine and cider samples from 5 to 7 p.m., plus freshly baked treats from Afternoon Delight Bakery, with a minimum donation of $3 to the River Center’s School Supply Drive.
There are some delicious options on the menu at the New Castle Community Market on Thursday, July 20. In addition to fresh produce and locally made food and products, New Castle Liquors is hosting its second annual sampling garden from 5 to 7 p.m. Market-goers can try a variety of beer, wine and cider—and help raise money for local students at the same time.
Choices include wines from Palisade, France and New Zealand; beers from Boulder and Durango; and cider from Oregon.
Wine
Talon Wingspan Red – Palisade
Talon Wingspan White – Palisade
Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc – Marlborough, New Zealand
M. Chaputier Belleruche Rosé – Côtes du Rhône
Cider
Sangia Cider – Portland Cider Company, Oregon
Beer
Ska True Blonde Ale – Durango
Upslope IPA – Boulder
Upslope Craft Lager – Boulder
Afternoon Delight Bakery will be in the sampling garden as well with freshly baked treats, including cupcakes created specifically for the event that include one of the beers.
“We had a great turnout last year, and are hoping to see even more people at the market on July 20. It’s going to be a lot of fun, with live folk and Americana music by Barry Anderson and more than 20 vendors. We hope folks will stick around afterwards for dinner at one of New Castle’s restaurants,” said Mandy Gauldin, who owns New Castle Liquors with her husband Scott. “Having Afternoon Delight Bakery there with us provides an extra incentive to participate, which will hopefully generate even more donations for the River Center.”
The market is held under the shade trees at Burning Mountain Park in downtown New Castle from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays through September 21.
Guests 21 and older can purchase wristbands to participate in the sampling for a minimum donation of $3 to the River Center’s School Supply Drive. The donations will be used to purchase school supplies that will be distributed to families in need in New Castle and Silt. A collection box will be on hand as well for anyone who wants to donate supplies in addition to a cash donation.
